I've been part of great teams and difficult ones. I started VoTech to help more people find the right team, and to make recruiting less about keyword matching and more about real conversations.

01 / Family business
John grew up working in his dad's company, with small business woven into everyday life.
02 / University of North Florida
At the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, John earned a bachelor's degree in Physics and a master's in Mathematical Sciences.
03 / Gainesville to Jacksonville
John began his technology career at Infinite Energy in Gainesville. Then a call from a tech recruiter in Jacksonville changed his path. He experienced firsthand the magic of a recruiter who sees your potential and opens the right door.
04 / Jacksonville, 2019
After a layoff in 2019, John's own job search showed him the other side of recruiting: how disappointing it can be when that care is missing. He wanted to create the kind of experience that had changed his own career. The idea for VoTech was born.
John began building VoTech Recruiting while working for The Suddath Companies in Jacksonville.
05 / 2026 and beyond
By 2026, John had become the top developer in Suddath's logistics vertical. As Manager of Application Architecture, he had hired developers and contracted with outside firms many times, seeing firsthand where software contracting fell short.
That experience inspired Flat Rate Dev, VoTech's surge capacity offering: clearly defined software delivered at a fixed price. John moved full time into VoTech in 2026, helping teams find the right people and get software built.
